Innovative family feature Coppelia combines enchanting animation and live action dance in a modern retelling of the love story between Swan and Franz, jeopardised by Dr. Coppelius and his uncannily beautiful protégé Coppelia. With a diverse and world-class cast including Michaela DePrince, Daniel Camargo, Vito Mazzeo and Dame Darcey Bussell, the unconventional adaptation sees Dr. Coppelius as a cosmetic surgeon, whose lure of superficial beauty poisons the town. Swan must uncover the truth about the popular newcomer who puts her community and the life of her beloved Franz in danger. Modern and fast paced, the dialogue-free film features a blend of musical influences from classical to electronic, bringing the story to life like never before.

Submarine teamed up with 3 Minute West, as well as Lunanime and Motion Works to create this film, which is a blend between live action footage and 2D animation.

Coppelia premiered at Annecy in 2021.
